Hi, I’m Mike, I’m here to replace the door latch on your dishwasher if you noticed when you close the door on your dishwasher isn’t closing all the way, which is causing it not to work correctly. For this repair you will need a T15 hex bit. Before doing any repairs completely disconnect your appliance from its power source.
To begin our repair we are going to open up the dishwasher door.
Next, we are going to remove all the screws that are holding the outside of the front door panel to the inside of the panel.
I recommend taking out the bottom screw drivers and then taking out the top screws, this way you won’t damage the front panel of the dishwasher. Once those bottom screws are removed, just lift up on the door this way when you take out the top screws, like I said previously, we are going to make sure we can support the front panel, so this way it won’t get damaged.
And once those four top screws are removed you are going to pick up on the front panel and lift up.
Next, we are going to disconnect the wire harness that is connected to the main control board of the dishwasher. The door latch is going to be located right here.
Just simply, pop that door latch out and next we’re just going to disconnect the wire harness from the door latch.
Just pull down on the tab right here and lift up on the wire and remove the door latch.
Next, grab your new OEM replacement door latch, if you do not have one of these door latches already, you can find one on one of our online stores. So, to attach your new door latch we are just going to simply plug the wire back in. Once the wire harness is connected to the door latch we are just going to simply slide our new door latch into position and we are going to make sure the wire harness is facing downward when we are putting our new door latch in. Then we are going to connect this wire back into the dispenser.
So, next we are going to reattach the front panel of the dishwasher. We are going to do that by, first, plugging in the main control board to the control assembly. Then we are going to take the front panel and place it along the door and make sure that it fits over the top gasket.
This is whats going to open up the door and the front panel. Next, we are going to replace the four top screws that we took out previously.
Once those top four screws are in, we are just going to pull down more onto the door and we are going to start going side-by-side and adding each screw all the way down the door until we are finished.
Once all the screws are in and the front panel of the dishwasher is secure, you can go ahead and close the door and your repair is complete.
Finally, don’t forget to plug in your appliance. Thanks for reading our article.
